YYACHTS strengthens management

YYachts has broadened its management team with the appointment of #christianmoller from Hamburg. The 56-year-old is now responsible for production, purchasing and project management. Möller has already proven that he knows something about sailing at numerous regattas. Among others, he was a member of the crews of the "I-Punkt", the "Diva" and the "Rubin" and took part in races around the globe.

With his own light-displacement cruiser, Möller and his wife undertook long tours in Europe and the Caribbean. He understands very well how to move a #yacht with a small crew and thus also the philosophy of #yyachts. #christianmoller comments on his involvement as follows: "It has always been my dream to be involved in building exciting yachts. #yyachts is a fantastic brand and the concept of reducing the yachts without neglecting comfort is just perfect." With his expertise, the Hamburg native would particularly like to further improve the structures at the shipyard to support its growth.

Möller, who previously held management positions at various companies – including in the GRP industry – will share the shipyard management with Dirk Zademack, who will from now on concentrate primarily on the areas of sales, marketing, product development and administration.

Dirk Zademack, Managing Partner at #yyachts, is very positive about the cooperation with #christianmoller: "With #christianmoller we have gained a very experienced Managing Director and at the same time a very successful sailor. The fact that he combines these two talents with us will position #yyachts even better in the market."

YYachts is one of many success stories of its founder Michael Schmidt. Schmidt, himself a passionate regatta sailor and boat builder, was privately looking for a #yacht. Since he was unable to find what he was looking for either in new yachts or on the brokerage market, he decided to build his ideal vessel himself. This idea gave birth to the Brenta 80 "Cool Breeze" and, in 2016, to the #yyachts brand. #yyachts models are created exclusively from carbon composite in Wieck on the Baltic Sea.
