FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 5, 2018) - Protecting the environment, reducing waste and healthy choices are among the enhancements to expect from the new, eco-minded concessionaire at this year's #fortlauderdaleinternationalboatshow, set to take place from October 31st through November 4th.
The 2018 show's recently announced culinary provider, Proof of the Pudding, will focus on supporting the show's sustainability goal of continually reducing its environmental footprint while delivering enhanced guest and exhibitor experiences. "Informa's investments over the past year in its new portfolio of U.S. boat shows have noticeably enhanced all our shows, prompting encouraging feedback from both exhibitors and attendees," said Informa U.S. Boat Shows General Manager Andrew Doole. "This past season's shows saw great infrastructure improvements and now we look forward to additional enhancements for the coming show season, beginning with the 2018 #fortlauderdaleinternationalboatshow." The culinary team at Proof of the Pudding emphasizes fresh, farm-to-plate fruits and vegetables, sustainable seafood, and natural, organic meats, partnering with purveyors to use locally-sourced, organic and sustainable products. The company prohibits the use of Styrofoam packaging or #service ware. Included among the sustainable elements of the new concessions program are biodegradable disposables made with 100 percent pre-consumer waste recycled paper, chlorine-free paper products, GRA-endorsed cooking fuel, and the recycling of used cooking oil. "We are committed to environmental and social responsibility in our day-to-day operations and believe that we have an obligation to create events that conserve natural resources and protect our environment," said Adam Noyes, president of Proof of the Pudding. "You can have exceptional, ecologically responsible events without sacrificing style." The show's new menu includes a wide variety of healthy eating choices. From flavorful fish tacos and stone crabs to authentic wood-fired pizza and other options, there will be new food offerings to satisfy every taste and budget. Portable and stationary "Ports of Call"- themed food stations include Cabo San Lucas for Mexican fare and the British Virgin Islands for Caribbean specialties, as well as favorites from Portofino, the Greek Isles and the French Riviera. New beverage experiences include specialty cocktails, premium wines and craft beers. Proof of the Pudding also will offer catering reservations for exhibitors and auxiliary show events. Exhibitors will be able to place advanced, online orders for pre-selected catering options, such as daily lunch for employees who are working the show, or arrange custom menus for parties and receptions as needed. Informa U.S. Boat Show's premium concessions partnership with Proof of the Pudding spans five major boat shows in Florida: the #fortlauderdaleinternationalboatshow (FLIBS), the St. Petersburg Boat Show, the Miami #yacht Show, the Palm Beach International Boat Show, and the Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota. The new partnership will kick off with the 59th annual #fortlauderdaleinternationalboatshow.Similar experiences are being planned for Informa's other Florida-based boat shows, but with distinct flourishes unique to the individual feel of each show. About The #fortlauderdale International Boat ShowOwned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) and managed and produced by Informa Exhibitions, the #fortlauderdaleinternationalboatshow (FLIBS) is the largest boat show in the world in terms of gross exhibitor space and number of vessels.
