Aston Martin joins forces with Henley Royal Regatta to be the first official automotive partner in the event’s history

4 May 2017, Luxury British Brand Aston Martin is proud to announce a new partnership with #henleyroyal Regatta, one of the world’s most prestigious and long-standing sporting fixtures. Founded in 1839, the Regatta is an iconic #event held under the patronage of the ruling monarch and is a mainstay of the British summer social scene.

Aston Martin stands alongside the Bremont Watch Company and clothing label Hackett London as one of the first three official partners of the Royal Regatta. All have been chosen for their British heritage, exceptional quality and close synergy between the sporting ethos behind the #event. The 104-year-old British marquee will showcase its range of acclaimed sports cars during the five-day Regatta as well as providing transport for key officials and VIP guests, providing ample demonstration of contemporary sporting luxury.

More than 300,000 spectators attend the Regatta each year, lining both banks of the river at Henley-on-Thames to witness crews from around the world at close quarters as they race the renowned Course, a distance of one mile, 550 yards (2112m). The knock-out heats are rich in drama and atmosphere, with the proximity of the spectators adding to the sense of occasion.

Aston Martins are dynamic, luxurious and beautiful, hand-made in Gaydon, Warwickshire, and will soon officially open their second manufacturing facility in St Athan, Wales. As this year’s Official #automotive Partner, Aston Martin is setting a high benchmark for design, performance and luxury. The company's current line-up is spearheaded by the DB11, an acclaimed sporting Grand Tourer that is the heir to the illustrious 'DB' bloodline.

Sir Steve Redgrave, Chairman of the Regatta’s Committee of Management, expressed the Regatta’s pride at these new associations. “The Stewards have always sought to retain the unique charm and character of the #event and these partnerships will work in a mutually beneficial way without overtly commercialising the #event.”

The 2017 #henleyroyal Regatta will take place this summer from Wednesday 28th June to Sunday 2nd July.
