Cockwells showcases star of Netflix Original and ultimate family fun boat at SIBS23

Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding is set to showcase its super-stylish Duchy Sport at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show (SIBS23), which takes place in the maritime city between 15 and 24 September.

Not only is this craft the ultimate family fun boat for friends and family, defined by its capacity to leave other sports boats in its wake, the Duchy Sport is also set to star alongside Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx in a forthcoming Netflix Original, entitled Back in Action, that is expected to hit our screens in 2024.

As well as creating the perfect wave to surf, the Duchy Sport features multiple towing points for wakeboards and inflatables, and delivers every luxury – from sunbeds and a forward cabin with heads to a hot water shower and galley with wet bar – all with the high-end finesse that you would expect from this internationally-acclaimed British boatbuilder.

An expansive Bimini supplies shade from the sun’s rays and supports removable awnings for all kinds of weather protection. Adjustable backrests provide comfortable seating around the dining table or an aft-facing view of the on-the-water action for those who prefer to spectate rather than participate, #film the grandchildren or gasp in awe at the antics of cool friends. Aft steps lead to a bathing platform with large swim ladder, enabling easy access to azure waters. Generous stowage for water toys completes the scene.

After her highly successful world premiere at last year’s SIBS, the Duchy Sport will make her return this year so that visitors to the Show can step on board and discover the ways in which this in-demand model is being customised for new clients.

“In the latest version of the Duchy Sport, we have introduced a galley with wet bar down below to free up the cockpit dining table and a hatch within the cabin that, when opened, creates a double bed,” explains Cockwells’ Design Director, Henry Ward. “As well as having fun on the water, you can now eat and sleep on the Duchy Sport, which appeals to clients who wish to add even more functionality to this dazzling day boat.”

With her deep catwalks and high rails, the Duchy Sport offers a safe environment for children and adults alike. The cabin is heated and air-conditioned so that you can warm up after wakeboarding or cool down after enjoying the warmth of the sun from one of the many lounging areas – either on the foredeck or the aft deck, which can be transformed into one spacious area, or be fully enclosed if the weather turns.

Cockwells will also exhibit its award-winning Duchy 35 at the event. With 70 Duchy Motor Launches having been sold to date, this classic model continues to increase in popularity with every year that passes, and has recently been launched in #australia, where it turned heads and clinched sales at the Sydney International Boat Show.

Duchy Motor Launches are a sought-after, semi-production range that combines the classical lines of the gentleman’s launch of generations past with polished styling and modern luxury. Ranging from 21ft to 60ft, these stylish vessels can be customised with any number of optional extras to create a cruising environment that is unique to each owner, whether sailing on lakes, canals, fjords, or open water.

“We are so looking forward to highlighting the capabilities of the Duchy Sport for adrenalin-fuelled action at this year’s SIBS and to welcoming visitors aboard our Duchy Sport and Duchy 35 ‘Betty’ with her dark grey hull and twin cabins, to experience the world-class craftsmanship, technological prowess and contemporary styling for which we are renowned across the world,” explains Founder & Managing Director, Dave Cockwell.

“Our team will also be on hand to share information about the all-new Hardy 50DS that we have recently launched during yet another year of exceptional growth. A warm welcome awaits you at stands M101 and M102 in the Marina and we can’t wait to discuss your requirements whether you long to speed across estuaries with water toys in tow, cross oceans or cruise inland waterways.”
