Lyman-Morse Technologies achieved the world’s most widely recognized quality management certification

Thomaston, Maine, After an extensive implementation process and
third-party audit, Lyman-Morse Technologies (LMT), a sister division
to Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding, achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, the
world’s most widely recognized quality management standard.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 is a
globally recognized quality management system. Today it is the most updated standard of its kind and focuses on quality management processes
and performance. Through regular third-party audits, this accreditation
validates LMT’s existing commitment to providing its customers with an
exceptional experience and final product.

The certification also provides objective proof that a manufacturing
business implements policies and procedures that satisfy all the requirements of a comprehensive quality management system. Perry Johnson
Registrars conducted the audit to ensure LMT was following the standard as prescribed by ISO.

“ISO 9001 helps to ensure that our customers receive consistently high-quality
products and service,” said LMT manager Samir Gupta. “They come to us due
to this commitment to quality and continual improvement.”

The certification also allows the company to expand further into federal,
municipal and defense industries, all of which are already components of
LMT’s business. The company is certified for three years during which
internal audits are taken and submitted to PJR. LMT is also subject to
unannounced audits.

In recent years, LMT has grown significantly, adding additional skillsets,
high-tech equipment and earning a reputation within a wide range of
industries.  The company has completed projects within a multitude of
fields, including architecture, municipalities, universities, industrial manufacturers, research, development projects and more.

Recent projects include the construction of a custom marine railway and
hydraulic door system for a structure on the Historic Register, while also
working on a cutting-edge project in partnership with one of the United
States’ largest naval ship construction facilities.  Other highlights include
clock hands for Boston’s historic custom house tower, a composite church
steeple and composite wind tunnels and air ducts. A 160 x 30-foot composite canopy for Cambridge, Massachusetts’ Kendall Square train station is
scheduled for a fall 2022 installation.
