Sunseeker announces new Asia distributors - Changes come as new yacht models will be launched in 2021

Sunseeker International has announced a new sales structure for #asia, with new distributors announced across the region for one of the world’s biggest name in production motor yachts.

In the key market of Hong Kong, NextWave Yachting is now distributor. #nextwaveyachting is a full-service company that offers new and used #yacht sales, charter and toy sales, having grown rapidly over the past few years.

Gordon Hui, formerly head of Sunseeker #asia, told Asia-Pacific Boating that he will now work as an independent broker focused on larger yachts.

In Thailand, Sunseeker will continue to be represented by Marine Max #asia, whose founder, Craig Murphy, is a longstanding dealer for Sunseeker under Sunseeker #asia. HYS Yachts, a refit and repair yard based in Subic Bay, the Philippines, was appointed Sunseeker dealer for that country in 2018 and will continue in this role. In Singapore, Sunseeker M will be distributor for the city-state after working as dealer for the past three years.

The company said the changes will bring Sunseeker “closer to the market” as the brand grows. The dealerships that were formerly working under Sunseeker #asia will now be working directly with #sunseekerinternational. Douglas Culverwell, regional business manager for #sunseekerinternational, said that as part of the #asia strategy to centralise sales and distribution, Sunseeker yachts over 100 feet sold in #asia will be handled directly by the shipyard.

The company has already announced a new line up of yachts to premier in early 2021. In today’s announcement, Sunseeker also said that its range would double by 2023.

Sean Robertson, Sales Director at #sunseekerinternational, said: “The #asia market is exceedingly important to us and this new strategy will allow us to assist each distributor to develop their market whilst prioritising customer #service. This change comes at a very exciting time in the expansion of our product range with five new models launching this spring. These include the new Manhattan 55, 88 #yacht and 90 Ocean which are ideally suited to this market with brand new contemporary interiors and layouts to match the dynamic styling of the exteriors.”

Robertson also said that Sunseeker clients would be assured first-class #service through its distributor network.

The Distributor representatives across #asia are as follows:

  • Hong Kong  – NextWave Yachting
  • Singapore – Sunseeker M Singapore
  • Thailand  – Max Marine Asia
  • Japan – Unimat Precious
  • Philippines – HYS Yachts
  • South Korea  – Hyundai Yachts
