CMC Marine and Sirehna present - the innovative Argo integrated control system

CMC Marine and #sirehna, a subsidiary of the Paris-based Naval Group, announce a new #partnership and introduce ArgoTM, the new integrated control system.

The two Companies are proud to announce the launch to the international yachting market of ArgoTM, the world’s first new integrated steering and stabilizer fin control system. The Cannes #yacht show also provides an opportunity to announce the new partnership between the Italian-based business #cmcmarine and French company #sirehna. The first result of the #partnership is the exclusive software #sirehna developed for the new #argo system, that will further improve the efficiency of the new systems and vessel control.

Describing the company’s latest new product, CEO Alessandro Cappiello explained that “ArgoTM is an open system consisting of several modules, each one created to offer a certain level of service based on the needs of the shipyard and the owner. We wanted to create a system that can deliver maximum on-board safety, offering better course stability and better steering control, maintaining the #yacht in a more vertical position. The main beneficiaries will be displacement boats because ArgoTM eliminates once and for all the problem of constant micro course corrections”.

The ArgoTM system consists of four different modules: the first is the integrated fin and steering control system for better seaworthiness in following seas by coordinating the movement of the rudder and the fins for better course stability, a smaller wake and reduced consumption even at higher speeds.

The second module adds engine management, making it possible, with the help of the autopilot, to control broaching (the condition in which the boat is sailing at the same speed as the waves, causing uncontrolled acceleration and possible heeling) by automatically changing course or speed, or alternatively raising an alarm signal for the captain.

The third module controls the entire #yacht using only a joystick.

The fourth and final module is a dynamic positioning system to maintain a specific position at sea or dedicated area; the #yacht is controlled with a joystick that interacts with the engines, the stabilizer fins, the rudders and the thrusters.

Sirehna is a French subsidiary of Naval Group and operates in various fields including hydrodynamics and the control of mobile marine units, the Company is an ideal partner for #cmcmarine because of their maritime expertise applied with civil projects. Both companies, in fact, have made a name for themselves through their high-level engineering skills and the quality of their investments in R&D. They also both have extensive experience and know-how in the field of hydrodynamics and ship motion control, as well as the capacity to offer reliable and proven sea keeping solutions.

The new ArgoTM system is the most recent result of the investment made by #cmcmarine in the development of new electrical actuation systems. The launch of this product continues a strategy of constant innovation and paves the way for the introduction, in the near future, of new developments in the market, which are also the result of the Company's innovative capability.
