PHILADEPHIA — For the eighth year in a row #Chevrolet was proud to serve as the official vehicle of the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA.

In an on-field presentation during the game, Dan Akerson, former chairman and CEO of General Motors and a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, recognized Operation Homefront and the commitment of the families taking care of our wounded veterans.

Akerson presented an all-new #Chevrolet Traverse to Shawn Moore and her family in recognition of her work as an Operation Homefront Hearts of Valor group facilitator and her dedication as a caregiver to her husband, Bryan, a United States Army veteran who was medically retired after 7 tours and 23 years of service.

“It is so important for us to honor the families of our military service members who are so often confronted with the lifelong care of our wounded veterans,” said Akerson. “Recognizing Shawn Moore and the exceptional care that she is providing for her husband, Bryan, is a small way for GM and #Chevrolet to bring attention to the vital role organizations like Operation Homefront play in the daily support of our military families.”

Operation Homefront’s Hearts of Valor program honors the service and sacrifice of the people who care for our nation's wounded, ill or injured warriors and provides a supportive community for them.

“We are very grateful for Chevrolet’s exceptional support of the caregivers participating in our highly regarded Hearts of Valor program,” said Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., president and CEO of Operation Homefront. “This impactful program directly contributes to our mission to build strong, stable and secure military families by providing caring individuals, like Shawn Moore and over 3,400 other caregivers, with a network of resources and peer-to-peer support that enables them to better cope with the various challenges they and their loved ones face.”

With more than 6,000 veterans employed at GM and more than 50,000 GM retirees who are veterans, GM and #Chevrolet are proud to help those who have given so much for their country.
