Swedish team Artemis Youth Racing have moved into a commanding position at the end of the first Pool A Qualifiers day at the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup in #bermuda.
With the four Pool B qualifiers already decided for the upcoming Finals, the Swedish team finished the opening day of Pool A action on top after two first places and a third in the three races.
They started the racing alongside Kaijin Team Japan, SVB Team Germany, Team France Jeune, Youth Vikings Denmark and Team Tilt with Robin Follin’s French outfit cruising to victory in the opening race despite light winds that made sailing tricky.
Max Kohlhoff’s SVB Team Germany just pipped the Swedes for second place, leaving the Japanese, Swiss and Danes to trail home in their wake.
In race two, Artemis Youth Racing narrowly got the better of SVB Team Germany in a fascinating duel with Team France Jeune overtaking the improved Youth Vikings Denmark at the last mark for third. The Swiss held off Kaijin Team Japan to finish fifth.
