As a rule there is little room to move in already optimally matured products. Here the new Explorer-generation clearly represents the exception. It shows a revolutionary further development of comfort, which is based on a technical innovation, the diesel-electric PODdrive. An azipod with electric motor surrounds the drive and thus creates at the same time a forward drive- as well as an active steering gear, rotatable by 360 degrees.

ENERGY ADVANTAGE

Depending on the speed, three generators will automatically switch on additionally. Thus only so much energy is produced as is needed at the time; in every respect an economic-, consumption- and above all an environmentally friendly way of moving forward. Especially since the POD-generators produce at the same time the overall hotel load, that is the electricity and power on board, from lights to kitchen gear right up to the fresh water treatment.

STEERING ADVANTAGE

Beyond this high energy exploitation, the POD-drive also increases the driving comfort. The 24- to 45- m-Explorer can be steered sensationally easy due to the active rudder. Difficult manoeuvres in the harbour turn into an uncomplicated "parking" with a joystick.

SOUND ADVANTAGE

As the drive shaft of the POD-principle is arranged under water, the vibrations and oscillations are naturally dampened. Should it become louder and more animated on board, then this is certainly not down to the drive... A decisive benefit for all yachting friends.

SPACE ADVANTAGE

The POD-drive also influences the architecture and functionality positively. It creates a new free space, as the engine room can now be positioned at a more unobtrusive place: below the floor in the forecastle. Thus the lower deck is fully useable without the usual detours, the guest cabins move into the immediate vicinity of the beachclub and the sea. The result: shortest possible ways and an absolute dream position.

SERVICE ADVANTAGE

The new positioning of the engine room into the vicinity of the crew quarters means that the technique can be monitored more intense and easier. Also, in this way the crew has more room to act without having to disturb the guests.

CLIMATE ADVANTAGE

It does not always have to be the South. If you prefer colder areas, the new Explorer offers all possibilities to do just that. The ship with ice class is protected against ice flows by an ice-belt roughly at the water line.
